Baseball Recap: Mesa's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Red Mountain, Mesa was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dobson Mustangs, sneaking past 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jackrabbits have posted since March 22, 2024.

Mesa saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Gilmore, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Gilmore a new career-high.

The win snapped Mesa's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 3-14 record. As for Dobson, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Mesa will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
