Basketball Recap: La Joya Community Fighting Lobos vs. Kofa Kings

La Joya Community took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Kofa Kings with a sharp 70-44 win. The victory continues a trend for the Fighting Lobos in their matchups with the Kings: they've now won three in a row.

La Joya Community was led to victory by Jaseer Willis and Isaiah Carter. Willis shot 56% from the field en route to 24 points in addition to eight boards and six steals, while Carter almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. Those 24 points gave Willis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Mpoyi, who posted four points.

La Joya Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 23 consecutive games dating back to last season.
