Baseball Recap: Wauseon Takes a Loss

Wauseon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Swanton Bulldogs. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 10-3 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wauseon's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Swanton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wauseon will face off against Montpelier at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Locomotives have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Swanton, they will take on Ottawa Hills at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
