Baseball Recap: Imagine Prep Takes a Loss

Imagine Prep fell victim to Heritage Academy Gateway and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Heroes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 8-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Imagine Prep and nudges their season record down to 4-6-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-3-1 Mission Heights Prep (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.1% over those games). As for Heritage Academy Gateway, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Imagine Prep will square off against Maricopa Institute of Technology at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage Academy Gateway, they will take on Mission Heights Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Heroes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Phantoms have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season.
