Football Game Preview: Clever Blue Jays vs. St. James Tigers

The Clever Blue Jays will challenge the St. James Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Clever is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 48-0 victory over Pleasant Hope/Halfway. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Jays considering their 13-point performance the contest before.

Clever's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quintin Lemmer, who rushed for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Lemmer's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Brayden Baker was another key signal caller, throwing for 122 yards and four TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Meanwhile, St. James can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against Strafford as they made off with a 29-7 victory.
