After a string of three wins, Deming's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 10-6 to the Cathedral Fighting Irish. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

Jose Duran made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Chris Olvera was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Deming's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Cathedral, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-7-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Deming beat the Fighting Irish by a score of 9-8 later that day.
