Starkville is 6-0-1 against Kosciusko since November of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Starkville Yellowjackets will look to defend their home pitch against the Kosciusko Whippets at 7:15 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Starkville's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They beat Germantown by a goal, winning 1-0. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Mavericks are ranked 44th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kosciusko's game on Saturday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 3-1 to Lafayette.

Kosciusko's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-9. As for Starkville, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.

Starkville took their win against Kosciusko in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 6-0. Will Starkville repeat their success, or does Kosciusko have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
