Baseball Recap: Delhi Comes Up Short

After flying high against Waterford last Wednesday, Delhi came back down to earth. Delhi fell 6-2 to the Mariposa County Grizzlies on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 two weeks ago.

Delhi saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isac Vargas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Delhi's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mariposa County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Delhi is set to face off against their familiar foe Modesto Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mariposa County will take on rival Stone Ridge Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
