Basketball Recap: Churchill Takes a Loss

Churchill was the 50-45 winner over Franklin when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the Churchill Chargers and the Franklin Patriots didn't end well, with the Churchill Chargers falling 52-35.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dominic Goines, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 22 points and five boards. Goines continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kameron Webster, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Churchill's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Franklin, their record is now 7-12.

Coming up, Churchill is taking a road trip to challenge Dearborn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Dearborn's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Franklin, they will challenge Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
