Preview: Anderson Valley Panthers vs. Laytonville Warriors
Anderson Valley is 1-9 against Laytonville since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Anderson Valley Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Laytonville Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Anderson Valley and seven for Laytonville dating back to last season.
Anderson Valley suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Point Arena at home and fell 77-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Anderson Valley has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Laytonville had to suffer through a rough 70-26 loss at the hands of Ferndale.
Anderson Valley's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for Laytonville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Anderson Valley ended up a good deal behind Laytonville in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, losing 72-56. Can Anderson Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
