Softball Recap: Southern Choctaw Indians vs. Sweet Water Bulldogs
If Southern Choctaw was feeling good fresh off their 21-6 takedown of Clarke County last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Southern Choctaw Indians came up short against the Sweet Water Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 18-8. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Emerald Dunigan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Keri McGee also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Southern Choctaw dropped their record down to 3-4-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Sweet Water, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Choctaw will venture away from home to face off against Clarke County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sweet Water, they will head out on the road to challenge Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sweet Water's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
