Volleyball Recap: Russell Comes Up Short

Russell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goodland Cowboys. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-20.

Norah Mooney paced Russell's offense, picking up five kills. Mooney got some help from Madeleine Middleton and her nine assists.

Russell's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Goodland, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Russell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Hoisington on the 20th. As for Goodland, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Norton on the 20th.
