Softball Game Preview: Barstow Aztecs vs. Silverado Hawks

The Barstow Aztecs will square off against the Silverado Hawks at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Barstow has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Barstow saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Delano.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Silverado's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 10-6 to Adelanto.

Silverado saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Valdez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, Valdez posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

Barstow has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. Silverado now has a losing record of 6-7.
