Volleyball Recap: Peru's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Peru dropped to 11-3 on Thursday, ending the team's five-match streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Plattsburgh Hornets by a score of 3-2. The Nighthawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Natalia Gushlaw-Mirville paced Peru's offense, picking up ten kills. Gushlaw-Mirville really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 15. Avery Bresette controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for Plattsburgh, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 23, 2024.

Plattsburgh found their leader in sophomore Marlie Walker, who had 20 digs, seven aces, and five kills. Those 20 digs set a new season-high mark for Walker. Another player making a difference was Natalyia Canada, who had 27 digs and three assists.

Peru wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Northeastern Clinton on the 27th. As for Plattsburgh, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against AuSable Valley on the 27th.
