Baseball Recap: Golden Gate Comes Up Short

Golden Gate lost against Bonita Springs back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Golden Gate Titans lost 13-5 to the Bonita Springs Bullsharks. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marlon Cancio was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

Even though they lost, Golden Gate was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Golden Gate's record now sits at 3-8. As for Bonita Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Golden Gate will head out to take on Island Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bonita Springs, they will challenge Ida Baker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bonita Springs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Ida Baker's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
