Baseball Recap: Sheridan Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sheridan had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Frankton Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Blackhawks: when they faced off against the Eagles back in April, they had to take a 18-5 defeat.

Frankton's batters probably weren't too happy with Dayne Voege, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up four walks). Sheridan is undefeated when Voege posts ten or more strikeouts, but 8-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Sheridan's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chance Spencer, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

The win (which was Sheridan's third in a row) raised their record to 11-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Frankton, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

As of now, neither Sheridan nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
