After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Memphis, Searcy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 win over the Batesville Pioneers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Searcy's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 8-15. As for Batesville, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-14.

Searcy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Batesville: the pair will be back at it again later today.
