After a string of five wins, Prospect's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Wheaton North Falcons by a score of 2-1. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brendan Ziegenhorn paced Prospect's offense, picking up 14 kills. Ziegenhorn got some help from Ryan Cook and his 28 assists. Cook also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Bartosz Czerwiec, racking up two apiece.

Wheaton North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trey Hubner led the charge by getting 26 assists and four digs. That's the most digs Hubner has posted over his last nine matches. Another player making a difference was Thant Zin, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Prospect's defeat dropped their record down to 24-7. As for Wheaton North, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-10.

Prospect has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Buffalo Grove on the 13th. As for Wheaton North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Glenbard North on the 13th.
