Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lacassine). They were the clear victor by a 19-1 margin over the Bell City Bruins on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ray Conner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Pat Conner, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Layne Baguex, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Lacassine lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Lacassine's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Bell City, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lacassine will challenge Hathaway at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bell City, they will host Episcopal of Acadiana at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
