Wood River never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Minico Spartans 11-0. Considering the Wolverines have won nine matches by more than six  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Paityn Nelson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those  nine  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  firing off two  home runs and three  RBI while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Emmalese Nilsen was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  double.  Marlee McLean was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Wood River  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in 15 consecutive  contests.
Wood River is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Minico, they dropped their record down to 4-19 with the  loss, which was their 11th straight  on the road.
 Looking ahead, Wood River will face off against Burley at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  win, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight. Minico does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
