Christian and Hudsonville are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. Christian is taking a road trip to square off against Hudsonville at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Christian has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 22.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Christian's offense. They lost 6-0 to Forest Hills Northern on Wednesday. Considering the last time the Eagles couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Hudsonville faced Sterling Heights Stevenson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Titans 8-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Dax Rossin looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Caeden Kennedy and Kaden Howard did most of the damage at the plate: Kennedy went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Howard got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Lance Horodyski also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Hudsonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sterling Heights Stevenson only posted an OBP of .222.

Hudsonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Christian couldn't quite get it done against Hudsonville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
