Baseball Game Preview: Vanguard Knights vs. Santa Fe Raiders

Vanguard hasn't had much luck against Santa Fe recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Vanguard Knights will host the Santa Fe Raiders at 6:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Vanguard is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Leesburg 3-1. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Vanguard's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braden Grubb, who went a perfect2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe had just enough and edged Dunnellon out 2-1 on Tuesday.

Brody Rou looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
