Baseball Recap: Mooresville Extends Winning Streak to Six

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mooresville walked away with it. They won by a run and slipped past the Lake Norman Wildcats 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won six contests in a row.

Talon Russ looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Connor Robertson was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Mooresville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Norman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season.

Mooresville will face off against Myers Park on Friday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Lake Norman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
