Windsor put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Miramonte Matadors to the tune of 59-21. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Matadors are ranked 324th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windsor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Vose lll, who threw for 274 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt. Those 274 passing yards gave Vose lll a new career-high. Windsor's leading receiver Blayke Ferronato was Vose lll's top target yet again, picking up 162 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Windsor's defense and their four sacks. Semere Berhe was especially locked on to Miramonte's QB and sacked him twice.
Windsor's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Miramonte, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windsor will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cardinal Newman at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The Cardinals' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Jaguars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Miramonte, they will head out on the road to square off against College Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Matadors are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
