Baseball Recap: Vasquez Beats Faith Baptist for Their Seventh Straight Win

Vasquez entered their tilt with Faith Baptist on Wednesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Contenders. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Luke Real made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Landon McGriff was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Zach Vanornum was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Vasquez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Vasquez pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Faith Baptist, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Vasquez has already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Palmdale on the 3rd. As for Faith Baptist, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-7 defeat against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica on the 5th.
