Volleyball Recap: South Gwinnett Falls to Clarkston in First Game of Season

South Gwinnett kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 2-0 to the Clarkston Angoras. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-8.

Clarkston can attribute much of their success to Solomon Vabierona, who had six digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Vabierona a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Clarkston and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

South Gwinnett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clarkston, they will challenge Trinity Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
