Basketball Game Preview: Rice Lake Warriors vs. Hudson Raiders

Rice Lake and Hudson are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Rice Lake Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Hudson Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rice Lake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.

Rice Lake is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Chippewa Falls to the tune of 84-50 on Friday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Cardinals are ranked 384th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Adaline Sheplee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11 for 18 on her way to 28 points and four steals. The game was her 12th in a row with at least 15 points. Addison Schmidt was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Rice Lake was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hudson ended up a good deal behind Eau Claire Memorial on Friday and lost 57-41. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Rice Lake is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Hudson, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Rice Lake took their win against Hudson in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 68-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rice Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
