Tippecanoe Valley came tearing into Friday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Huntington North with a sharp 58-38 win.

Tippecanoe Valley was led to victory by Ian Cooksey and Stephen Akase. Cooksey to rack up 21 points and five rebounds, while Akase on his way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Cooksey has scored at least a third of Tippecanoe Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Deondre Hamilton, who posted ten points and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Huntington North lost, don't look at Dalton Husband. Despite the final result, he en route to 17 points. Husband is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last four games he's played. Ethan Zahn was another key player, to rack up 12 points.

Tippecanoe Valley pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Huntington North, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Tippecanoe Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-49 win against Kokomo on the 22nd. As for Huntington North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Wayne Canterbury at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
