Preview: Greybull Buffaloes vs. Shoshoni Wranglers
Greybull is 8-2 against Shoshoni since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Both teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Greybull is ranked 46th, while Shoshoni is ranked 44th).
Greybull posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They skirted past Wind River 47-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Greybull.
Even though Shoshoni has not done well against Rocky Mountain recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Shoshoni walked away with a 50-38 win over Rocky Mountain. 50 seems to be a good number for Shoshoni as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Greybull is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for Shoshoni, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.
Greybull didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Shoshoni in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greybull since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
