Softball Recap: Bradford Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Bradford proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tornadoes have posted against the Blue Wave since March 1, 2016.

Kellsie Cochran was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Regan Adams, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Bradford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Bradford's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for P.K. Yonge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Looking ahead, Bradford will head out on the road to take on Buchholz at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for P.K. Yonge, they will be playing at home against Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season.
