Baseball Recap: Summit Takes a Loss

The Summit Spartans came up short against the Grace Christian Academy Lions on Friday and fell 6-3.

Summit got a good showing from Tristan Easley, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Easley has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lucas Dawson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Davin Roush, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Grace Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.

Looking ahead, Summit will take on Green Hill at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.3, the Hawks 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Grace Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Battle Ground Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
