Baseball Recap: Liberty's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty). They were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over the Parlier Panthers on Tuesday. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.

Anthony Gaitan looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Liberty got a massive performance out of Jacob Rogers-Lehman, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Xaviar Gordon, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.

Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

The win was the fourth in a row for Liberty, bringing their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Parlier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Liberty has already played their next match, a 5-2 win against Dos Palos on the 26th. As for Parlier, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 defeat against Chowchilla on the 28th.
