Baseball Game Preview: Gladwin Flying G's vs. Shepherd Bluejays

The Gladwin Flying G will head out on the road to face off against the Shepherd Bluejays at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gladwin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Shepherd's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Gladwin's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Bullock Creek hitters got past them. The Flying G's lost 12-2 to the Lancers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Flying G's have suffered since May 2, 2024.

Meanwhile, Shepherd can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Meridian by a score of 6-2.

Sam King was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Shepherd hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meridian struck out eight times.

Gladwin's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Shepherd, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5-1.

Gladwin beat Shepherd 7-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flying G's since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
