Preview: Liberty Lions vs. Manchester Valley Mavericks
Liberty is 9-1 against Manchester Valley since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Liberty Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Manchester Valley Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. Liberty has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Liberty scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Westminster, posting a 71-34 win on the road. Given Liberty's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Westminster is ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Manchester Valley, as they earned their first road win of the season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Winters Mill 54-51.
Manchester Valley's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carter Strohman, who scored 16 points. The game was Strohman's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was William Cuneo, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Liberty's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Manchester Valley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Liberty against Manchester Valley in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 85-44 victory. Does Liberty have another victory up their sleeve, or will Manchester Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
