Soccer Recap: Pierce County's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Tattnall County last Friday, Pierce County came back down to earth. The Bears fell 3-1 to the Savannah Arts Academy Panthers on Thursday. Pierce County were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior), but Savannah Arts Academy's defense proved too tough.

The defeat snapped Pierce County's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5 record. As for Savannah Arts Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Pierce County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brantley County at 5:00 p.m. on the 15th. Pierce County are facing Brantley County at the right time seeing as Brantley County are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Savannah Arts Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 victory against South Effingham on the 8th.
