Cusick took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Curlew, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cougars 7-5. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Kaden P was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). P was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. P is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Cusick got a big performance out of Daniel L, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nick S, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Cusick and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Curlew, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Cusick will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
