Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Plymouth Christian Academy

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. Plymouth Christian Academy put the hurt on Kent City with a sharp 7-1 win. Considering Plymouth Christian Academy has won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Mariah Wright, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kallie Brodhagen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory was the third in a row for Plymouth Christian Academy, bringing their record up to 20-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kent City, they moved to 14-7 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Plymouth Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-3 victory against Coopersville on the 17th. As for Kent City, they will square off against Hart at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Eagles have won four straight at home, while the Pirates won eight straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
