Basketball Game Preview: Shelby-Rising City Huskies vs. Cornerstone Christian School Cougars

The Shelby-Rising City Huskies will take on the Cornerstone Christian School Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Shelby-Rising City needed a bit of extra time to put away East Butler. They managed a 59-55 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Shelby-Rising City found their leader in sophomore Nixon Thelen, who posted 36 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thelen has scored all season. Dalton Pokorney was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cornerstone Christian School duked it out with Lewiston on Friday. Cornerstone Christian School walked away with a 56-46 victory over Lewiston.

Cornerstone Christian School's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.2 points. As for Shelby-Rising City, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
