Basketball Game Preview: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Lake Highland Prep Highlanders

The Lake Brantley Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Brantley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lake Brantley beat Lake Mary 44-38.

Julian Vargas went supernova for Lake Brantley, going 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dean Adkins, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lake Highland Prep waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They took down the Lions 60-43. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Lions are ranked 177th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lake Highland Prep pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Lake Brantley, their record now sits at 15-9.

Lake Brantley lost to Lake Highland Prep on the road by a decisive 53-37 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2018. Thankfully for Lake Brantley, Victor Brown (who had 26 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
