Softball Game Preview: Putnam Clippers vs. Lyman Memorial Bulldogs

Putnam is 1-8 against Lyman Memorial since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Clippers will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Putnam has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Putnam lost 14-2 to Bolton on Monday. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lyman Memorial). They were the clear victors by a 21-4 margin over Parish Hill on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.

Lyman Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Putnam, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Putnam might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Lyman Memorial in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Clippers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
