Softball Recap: St. Louis Triumphs

Ithaca typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday St. Louis proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Yellowjackets. The win continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won four in a row.

Paige Luneack made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Katt, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Halle Hoyt, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

St. Louis' record now sits at 15-7. As for Ithaca, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-5.

As of now, neither St. Louis nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
