Basketball Recap: El Dorado Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Horizon came into Friday's game looking for another win against El Dorado, but Adrian Rodriguez wouldn't allow it. The El Dorado Aztecs breezed by the Horizon Scorpions to the tune of 63-30 on Friday thanks in part to Rodriguez, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high.

El Dorado is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Horizon, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

El Dorado and Bowie will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. El Dorado is facing Bowie at the right time seeing as Bowie is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Horizon, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Americas at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
