Football Recap: Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Victorious

On Thursday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, the Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers made off with a 7-6 win over the McKeel Academy Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Explorers.

One reason for the win was Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jaynoelis Ruiz. What's more, she racked up six total tackles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for McKeel Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will square off against Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKeel Academy, they will take on Ridge Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
