Softball Recap: Burr Oak Bobcats vs. Marcellus Wildcats
Burr Oak gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Marcellus Wildcats.
Brooklynn Root spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 15 Ks.
At the plate, Braylyn Hernandez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Elaine Holtom, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Burr Oak will have a chance to go back-to-back against Marcellus: the pair will be back at it again later today.
