Softball Recap: Blissfield Gets the Win

Blissfield proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Madison Trojans, sneaking past 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

Savannah Stalker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up six earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Stalker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Grace Strahan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win got Blissfield back to even at 4-4. As for Madison, they moved to 8-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blissfield will take on Hilltop at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison, they will be playing at home against Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
