Softball Recap: Greensburg Salem Golden Lions vs. Highlands Golden Rams

Greensburg Salem came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Highlands Golden Rams on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Golden Lions: when they faced off against the Golden Rams on April 2nd, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Alle Scarpa was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Scarpa was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, Cate Waugaman was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Marley Perrone was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
