Softball Recap: Fort Chiswell Pioneers vs. Craig County Rockets

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fort Chiswell had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the Craig County Rockets onto the board and left with a 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for Fort Chiswell, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Krista King made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. King has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive pitching appearances. King was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Lilly Goforth was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Bri Cody, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
