Basketball Game Preview: Saint Francis Catholic Wolves vs. Interlachen Rams

The Saint Francis Catholic Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Interlachen Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Saint Francis Catholic is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Trinity Catholic just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Celtics.

Despite their loss, Saint Francis Catholic saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cyrus Fariborzian, who posted ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Liam Banks, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Interlachen's strategy against Bell on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Interlachen blew Bell out of the water with a 77-43 final score. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

Interlachen's win came from a few key players Saint Francis Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Devon Williams, who earned 14 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. That's the most assists he has posted since back in November of 2024. Raszir Phelps was another key player, going 7 for 15 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Interlachen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

With the victory, Interlachen broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-12. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.

Saint Francis Catholic couldn't quite finish off Interlachen in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 59-57. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Interlachen's Kemontae Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 21 boards.
