Baseball Recap: Apex Takes a Loss

Apex was the 11-0 winner over Green Hope when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell 5-2 to the Falcons on Tuesday. Cougars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Falcons since on Tuesday.

Apex got a good showing from JUSTIN DAVIS, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. DAVIS has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, ADRIAN GONZALEZ and AYDEN FOGG stepped up to the plate in a big way. GONZALEZ scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while FOGG scored a run while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Apex and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Green Hope, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-11.

While Apex had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
