Softball Recap: Klein Forest Takes a Loss

Klein Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the St. Pius X Panthers, falling 13-1.

Danyelle Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and ten unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Klein Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh Culberson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Klein Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for St. Pius X, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season.

Klein Forest will host Heights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Klein Forest has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for St. Pius X, they will take on Kinkaid in a tournament on Friday.
